Dear Timothy: I wanted to thank you for your prayers for me. The surgery was successful and they found no cancer! Praise God! God is so good and faithful. I've been praying the Miracle Prayer for years and I believe I got my miracle. God is so good and faithful. We just got home yesterday from Mayo Clinic. I am so relieved to be home. I did receive your Relic Card in the mail, so thank you. I will definitely pass out these Miracle Prayers of your Uncle Peter. God Bless, Marie |

(cont.) I believe he was a living saint and should be declared such. I am sure there are hundreds of people with stories like mine where he healed the sick. I can search through papers if you need documentation to substantiate the miracle if it would help with sainthood status for Father. You may have hundreds of stories like this and hopefully the request for sainthood is being considered. |

(cont.) A couple of weeks later, we were at a doctor's appointment for the doctor's decision to remove the other leg now or wait until after Christmas for removal. The doctor kept looking at his leg and looking very confused. Then he pulled a piece of gangrene from his leg, and my husband reacted with pain and anger. The doctor's eyes were open wide and he said "Paul you have had no blood circulation in that leg for all this time, but you are bleeding! And you felt pain when I removed the gangrene." I told him about Fr. Rookey's blessing and how Paul felt. And I told him I believe he has received a miracle from that Holy Priest. He said, "I have handled every calciphylaxis case in the entire Midwest and have never seen anyone reverse from it. Before today I have never witnessed a miracle but do believe this is a miracle. There is no other explanation." I sent this story to our Archbishop and to the Vatican with documentation but never received a reply. (cont.) |

My deceased husband lost his leg due to a deadly disease called Calciphylaxis which typically results in death within a year of diagnose. He was about to undergo the removal of his other leg, which would mean being in a care facility rather than at home with our family. Then he would lose his arms, and eventually die from it. I read that a healing Mass was scheduled at a Church in downtown Omaha, and I drove my husband and myself there to receive a blessing from Father Rookey. Prior to Mass, many people in the church stood and shared stories of healing by Fr. Rookey - dire ailments and now they were cured. We went to the Altar for his blessing, and he held the sacred Monstrance in his hand, he blessed me and then my husband in his wheelchair. I felt it was a nice blessing but was startled by my husband's whisper asking if I felt as if I was burning from head to foot after his blessing. I said "no" and he replied that is how he felt. When I served Mass for Fr. Rookey in Germany, I Felt an electric shock when he touched me. He went into a trance during the consecration of the Mass for up to 20 minutes. I didn’t understand these things and though at the time that he was strange. After attending the healing service at Saint Michael’s church in 1990 or 1991, My wife and I reconciled and became presenters in the Retrouvaile ministry. WE were separated for 9 months. We spend s6 months writing talks for Retrouvaille and presented our first weekend on our 25th Wedding anniversarys. Without Father Rookey’s prayers, there would have been no wedding anniversary. For over 20 years, we told the story of our brokenness and healing to couple in troubled marriages. This was a major commitment, we told our story to over 600 couples. They kept coming back to the sessions. The Holy Spirit was definitely working through us. Like Fr. Rookey, I am a sinner, but I have a strong faith in Jesus Christ. |

I'm writing here to share a glory report. Janice Pohlman, of Quincy, Illinois (hometown of St. Augustus Tolton) called. She had been praying to Fr. Peter Mary Rookey, asking for his intercession for a miraculous healing. She had extreme, debilitating pain in her shoulder, and was scheduled for surgery. She called to say that the doctor couldn't believe his eyes, when the X-ray showed recently there was now no need for surgery. The shoulder was improving to the point of a miraculous healing. She is going to get a doctor report confirming this. Praise the Lord now and forever! |

This is a continuation of the previous e-mail. Mary Lou had been looking for her son, whom she had not seen since giving birth, years ago. When she was eighteen, she had gotten pregnant by her boyfriend, who was a police officer. She had thought he was a good man, but it turned out he wasn't. He wanted her to have an abortion, and threatened her if she didn't. She decided to go to a Catholic home for unwed mothers, and nobody but her parents knew about it. She gave birth to a son, and gave him up for adoption. She always wanted to know what happened to him. She wanted to meet him, but had no idea how to find him. Two years after Father Peter said that to her at the healing Mass, that "she would find him", she did! She was able to find his adoptive parents, who were very loving, and she met him! He was overjoyed to meet her too! It meant the world to her! She will always be grateful that she met her son, whose life was saved, by the grace of God. |

I am writing to share a phone conversation I had the other day with Mary Lou Dexter, from New York. She is in her eighties, with 6 children. She wanted to request a Fr. Peter relic card, and ten Miracle prayer cards, to give out to friends. She suffers from a bit of anxiety and depression, and asked for prayer. I suggested she read Scripture during the day, and pray the rosary early in the day. I suggested and gave her the prayer, "Come Holy Spirit, come by means of the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, your well-beloved spouse." I helped her to find and see this website, and we shared the biography, and photos page together. She mainly wanted to tell me of a miraculous occurance. Years ago, she attended a healing Mass. She said the Fr. Peter came down the aisle, right to where she was sitting, and reached out to her, placing his hand on her shoulder, and said, "You will find him". She had never met Fr. Peter. He had no idea that she had been looking for her son. |

Rookey was my assoc pastor at my parish St. Dom's yrs ago, and he was so very special to me as our priest and helped me then thru a very difficult time. So many years passed in my life, and I truly feel 3 1/2 yrs ago when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 female cancer I asked for his intercession thru prayers to our Lord, I feel he has been there with me hearing my prayers. I had 5 rounds chemo, 39 radiation treatments, surgery on my esophagus, and have been cancer free 3 1/2 yrs. In my yrs when he was serving at St. Dom's whenever I called with my problem, he was right there, right at the moment, praying and helping me and my family! He was one of the kindest of men, treated you as a friend not just a parishioner. I pray he is cannonized! |
